چکیده

Experiments were conducted to determine the resistance level of different cultivars and study efficacy various synthetic insecticides against red pumpkin beetle (Aulocohphora foveicollis) at New Developmental Malakandir Farm, University Agriculture Peshawar, during 2018. In first experimental trial, data collected on mean population density three (Desi, Super Green Madam-560) cucumber crop. While in second experiment, (Carbaryl, Cypermethrin, Malathion) an Untreated/Control used effect these Desi (susceptible) Madam 560 (resistant) regarding cultivar. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was this experiment. The relevant parameters recorded weekly intervals for eleven (1st experiment) four weeks (2nd i.e. till termination experiments. During it observed that significantly lowest (0.82) per plant highest yield (8981.3 kg ha-1) from 560, while (4.06) (7313.7 obtained Significantly maximum number plant-1 seventh week (29 May) Desi, with 6.41, 4.50 1.62 plant-1, respectively. cropping season, reached its peak May). After 7th week, a gradual decline occurred plant-1. adults (0.12), area consumption (3.12 mm2), percentage weight loss (1.60%) (21555 treated Carbaryl, adult (7.09), (36.11 (17.27%) (7247 untreated It followed by cultivar where 5.40, 25.92 mm2, 13.20% 8766 ha-1. is better than as results fruit. Carbaryl compared Malathion Cypermethrin because reduces beetle.

Polymorphom of sexually different cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) NIL lines.

Isolations of polymorphic sequences of two pairs of the NIL lines of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.), which differ with respect to sex, were carried out using the subtraction hybridization methods of DSC (Differential Subtraction Chain) and GDDSC (Genetically Directed DSC). 266 DSC tags were isolated from the entire genome region, and 38 GDDSC tags were isolated from the region containing the sex...

Genetic Diversity and Population Structure of Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)

Knowing the extent and structure of genetic variation in germplasm collections is essential for the conservation and utilization of biodiversity in cultivated plants. Cucumber is the fourth most important vegetable crop worldwide and is a model system for other Cucurbitaceae, a family that also includes melon, watermelon, pumpkin and squash. Previous isozyme studies revealed a low genetic diver...

Photochlorophyll Biosynthesis in Cucumber (Cucumis sativus, L.) Cotyledons.

The formation of protochlorophyllide and protochlorophyllide phytyl ester was investigated during etioplast biogenesis in order to study the biosynthetic relation of these two compounds. Protochlorophyllide accumulates slowly during the first 2 days of germination, its rate of formation increases sharply during the 3rd day, and then it decreases. Protochlorophyllide phytyl ester starts accumula...
